New trouble for ola Electric, case registered?

Rosmerta wallet PLATFORM' target='_blank' title='digital-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>digital Services Limited, a high security number plate maker and vehicle registration agency, has filed a case against ola Electric. Rosmerta has accused the company of not making payment of about Rs 18-20 crore. ola Electric disclosed this in a stock exchange filing.

ola Electric has said in the exchange filing that Rosmerta wallet PLATFORM' target='_blank' title='digital-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>digital Services Limited has filed a petition against ola Electric in NCLT, Bengaluru, alleging payment default. Along with this, the corporate insolvency resolution process has been initiated under Section 9 of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code.

ola rejects Rosmerta's claims

The company has denied the claims made by Rosmerta. The company says that all necessary legal steps will be taken to defend itself against Rosmerta's allegations. Earlier, on february 19, 2025, ola Electric said that it was renegotiating contracts with its vehicle registration agencies.

The company also said that this would temporarily affect the registration of the company's scooters on the government's vehicle registration portal VAHAN. However, all this will not have any negative impact on vehicle sales.

Difference in ministry and company data

According to the data on the website of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, ola sold 8,647 scooters in February. Whereas ola Electric claims that more than 25,000 vehicles were sold during this period. Earlier, ola Electric sources had said that there was no difference between actual sales and ministry figures in February. As of march 13, ola sold 5,208 scooters. To keep EBITDA positive, ola has set a target of selling 50,000 scooters every month. Rosmerta's case against the company comes at a time when ola Electric is facing investigation by the Central Consumer Authority (CCPA). The authority has sought additional documents related to more than 10,000 consumer complaints filed against the company and its products.
