Joshimath's collapse is entirely the fault of?...
The environment of the himalayas is particularly weak. The majority of uttarakhand is situated in seismic zones v or IV, which are earthquake-prone. "The frequent blasting in the tunnels has shook the basis of our community. We demand that the government take immediate action, which must include delaying the NTPC project right away, closing the Haleng-Marwari Bypass in Chardham, putting into effect the company's agreement to insure homes, and appointing a committee to oversee the rehabilitation of joshimath within a specific time frame."
Giving a scientific perspective, Research director Prakash stated that he is confident that the hydropower project, which has been operational in the tunnel's construction and is the main source of worry for locals, is to blame for the joshimath caving disaster. It has been established that the tunnel's perforation into a broken zone caused the water to gushe out, causing the disastrous situation.
