Despite all this, one of the biggest properties of the earth is that it rotates on its axis. Apart from this, it also revolves around the sun. These two events cause many events on Earth.
Day and night are caused by the rotation of the earth on its axis. It takes the Earth about 24 hours to make one revolution on its axis. This is the reason that in a day there are some hours of the day and some hours of the night. According to the distance of the Earth from the sun and different places on the Earth, the day and night keep getting shorter and longer. In some areas the day is short and in some places it is night. There are many places where day and night are exactly equal.
What if the earth stops rotating?
If the earth stops rotating on its axis, there will be no day and night. The rotation of the earth around the sun is the main reason for the change in seasons. In such a situation, even if the earth stops revolving around the sun, then there will always be heat on the part inclined towards the sun. On the other hand, the part which will not be tilted towards the sun and will be towards the other end of the earth will be cold forever. There will be some parts where it will continue to rain throughout the year and in some parts, there will be an atmosphere of drought.
The storm will come on earth
The Earth is rotating on its axis at a speed of about 1,700 kilometres per hour. However, we do not realize it because the whole environment is also running according to this. If the earth suddenly stops rotating, the winds will start blowing at about the same speed. The big storms that come, their speed is also up to 200 to 300 kilometres per hour. In such a situation, due to the stoppage of the earth, the storm that will arise, and everything on the earth can fly away from its place. Even big mountains can crumble.
