'Vedalam' and 'Thoongavanam' are two biggies which got released this Diwali. Both the movies released on 10th of November. As we reported earlier, 'Vedalam' already made a buzz with bookings.
The advance bookings itself showed how much hype the movie has. Now Trade sources has confirmed that the movie has grossed in the range of more than 18 to 21 crores in Tamil Nadu alone. This is phenomenal for a Tamil movie.
The previous first day record was with Rajini's 'Lingaa' which collected Rs. 12.65 Crores. The entire collections are expected to cross the landmark of Rs.50 Crores by this weekend. On other hand, 'Thoongavanam' has managed Rs.11 Crores on opening day.
And things are worse for 'Thoongavanam' at Chennai Box-Office. The movie is unable to make even 50% of 'Vedalam' collections. The collections are rising and theatre owners and distributors are happy with the output of the movie. The collection details for 'Vedalam' and 'Thoongavanam' are listed below,
