Telugu films are finding it difficult to register decent numbers while the hollywood heavyweights are making money in the USA. New releases have failed to draw telugu audiences for a third week in a row. Pakka Commercial, a film by Gopichand and Maruthi, was released during the last weekend. The movie garnered mixed reviews when it first came out, and as time went on, more and more people started to comment negatively about it. The movie didn't even reach half of the collections despite the extended weekend in the USA.

For a Gopichand starrer, the movie did well with $43k on opening day and another $30k on day one. But because of the bad reviews and word-of-mouth, the movie only made $100k in its first weekend. Despite the holiday weekend around Independence Day, "Pakka Commercial" didn't gain anything. The movie is a certified failure and has been another dud at the box office in the recent times.

"Saahasam," which had a lifetime total of $188k, is Gopichand's top-earning film in the USA. His most recent release, "Chanakya," only garnered $20k in lifetime sales. Therefore, "Pakka Commercial's" $100k gross is the highest figure for Gopichand in recent memory. "Vikram," starring Kamal Haasan, nearly finished its run. It currently costs $2.8 million.
