After yet another lengthy hiatus, director and well-known producer karan johar is back at it with his latest film, "Rocky Aur rani Ki prem Kahani," starring alia bhatt and Ranvir Singh. The bollywood reviewer brigade gave the movie their customary 3 to 4 stars, but the film's Day 1 box office results actually reflect its true quality.

Rocky Aur rani Ki prem Kahani is similar to karan Johar's altered version of the bommarillu movie; the substance of the movie is glorified with the customary family drama, large sets for songs, wealth everywhere, and expensive production design in addition to sparkling clothing. However, as a result of the flooding, rain, and overall lack of interest, the movie only earned 11+ crores net on Day 1 in India. Even if the production team is bragging about the double-digit opening, this is unquestionably a record-low figure when compared to how South films are currently opening to more than 20+ crore in the hindi hinterlands.

Bollywood has to quickly grasp the fact that mainstream commercial films don't do well unless they have major celebrities, as is the case with megastar chiru and Superstar Rajni. It's time to reevaluate the type of material as recent releases in bollywood, even those of huge stars like salman khan and Akshay, have also failed to find an audience.
