SRK’s ‘Jawan’ grosses ₹65 cr-Breaks a record!!!

Jawan, starring actor Shah Rukh Khan, had the highest opening day ever for a hindi film, grossing 65 crore on Thursday. The Atlee-directed movie broke the previous record set by Khan's own Pathaan, which brought in 55 crore when it was released in January. An additional 8 crore were earned by the film's dubbed tamil and telugu versions, bringing the overall india collection to 71 crore.

Jawan is off to a roaring start, clocking a massive 2.5 million (2,50,000) tickets sold so far, highlighting the unheard-of excitement surrounding the movie. The film's advance sales, at 1.6 million, are the highest ever for a Shah Rukh Khan production, laying the groundwork for a blockbuster run, according to a statement released on thursday by ashish Saksena, BookMyShow's chief operating officer for theatres.

Despite the hindi version naturally taking the lead, Saksensa claimed that sales have increased nationwide for all languages, multiplying for the tamil and telugu versions of the movie. The hindi language version of the movie has seen especially strong interest from markets across South and east india, including Hyderabad, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Chennai. This is interesting to note because other metros and non-metros in the country, including Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Pune, Coimbatore, and Bhubaneswar, are accelerating the pace for advance sales. Jawan received an overwhelming and sensational reception from audiences on its opening day, demonstrating the value and power of mass entertainers in the movie business.
