know ameesha patel was not the first choice for the role of Sakina. director Anil Sharma himself has now
revealed this.
Anil Sharma told in an interview given to bollywood Thikana that at the time of Gadar, he had many actresses in
his mind. He narrated the script to 2-3 actresses, some of whom also liked it. aishwarya rai bachchan and Kajol
were also included in it. However, Anil refused to tell why those actresses had rejected Gadar.

Anil then told that Zee Studio had talked to an actress who had agreed to play the role of Sakina but she was
charging too much money. The budget of the film was very tight, so the producers asked me to choose between
Amrish puri and the heroine.
