Director unable to buy a house after Jigra flops

Let us tell you that in a conversation with Cyrus Broacha, Vasan bala said, "Jigra was a big blow at the box office. It shakes you up, and I am still awake. But (new) scripts are also in the process of recovery." When asked if he was happy with the film during the shoot, Vasan said, "Yes, absolutely, I loved working with the crew, and it was great working with alia as well. She is an amazing actress, and she has an incredible work ethic and vision."

He further added, "That's how you appreciate success more when you don't have it. But not when you're trying to buy a house. Extra money doesn't hurt. I still live in a rented house."

He added, "Sometimes, ad guys can buy houses, but not directors. It's a legitimate profession. However, after Jigra, I went back to Mani Ratnam's sets. I went for two days, just to be around the film set, because I thought I would never go back."
