Tamil actor Suriya’s personal security officer, Anthony George Prabhu, was allegedly defrauded of ₹42 lakh by a domestic worker and her family.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the actor’s inner circle.
Chennai police are investigating the case, which is reportedly part of a larger fraud operation involving multiple victims and total losses of nearly ₹2 crore.
Investment Trap: From Trust to Deception
The accused, Sulochana, a domestic worker at Suriya’s residence, allegedly worked with her son and other family members to lure Prabhu into a fake investment scheme.
To gain credibility, the fraudsters initially returned 30 grams of gold in exchange for an investment of ₹1 lakh.
Convinced of their legitimacy, Prabhu invested a total of ₹42 lakh over two months (January–February 2025).
By March, when Prabhu requested the return of his funds, communication ceased, raising suspicion and prompting a police complaint.
FIR Filed and Four Arrested
Chennai police registered an FIR in July following Prabhu’s complaint.
Investigation revealed the group allegedly targeted multiple victims across chennai using the same scam.
Four individuals arrested:
Sulochana
Her sons, balaji and Bhaskar
Relative Vijayalakshmi
All four are in judicial custody, while authorities continue efforts to recover defrauded funds and identify additional victims.
Suriya Distances Himself
Actor Suriya has not made any public statement about the incident.
Sources indicate he terminated Sulochana’s employment immediately after learning of her involvement.
The actor is maintaining a distance from legal proceedings, allowing authorities to manage the case independently.
Professional Commitments Continue
Despite personal turmoil, Suriya remains active in films.
