The indian economy isn’t struggling. It isn’t in slowdown mode. It’s flatlined. And according to congress spokesperson Alok Sharma, one man is holding the smoking gun: narendra Modi. What was sold as bold reforms and “Make in India” swagger has turned into a brutal body count of destroyed livelihoods, wiped-out businesses, and a generation of youth with zero hope.

First, the Adani-Modi partnership. While ordinary indians scrape by, a handful of cronies have been handed the keys to the kingdom — ports, airports, mines, the works. Crony capitalism on steroids, while everyone else gets the scraps.

Then came demonetisation and a horribly botched GST. Overnight chaos that didn’t just inconvenience people — it obliterated small businesses, wiped out cash flow, and sent entire supply chains into cardiac arrest. The “one nation, one tax” dream became a nightmare for millions.

Next, the failed “Assemble in India” charade. Modi’s big manufacturing pitch turned into little more than screwdriver operations for foreign brands. Real value addition? Missing. Real jobs? Non-existent.

MSMEs — the backbone of India’s economy — were systematically wiped out. No credit, no support, just endless policy whiplash that left factories shuttered and workers on the streets.

Farmers got crushed under the weight of broken promises and market manipulation. The very people who feed the nation were left broken and betrayed.

And the final nail? Modi has single-handedly destroyed the future of India’s youth. There are simply no jobs. Dreams of a better life have been replaced by despair, migration, and gig-work survival.

The economy isn’t just sick. It’s dead. And the man at the top refuses to even acknowledge the corpse.
