A violinist has filed a lawsuit accusing Will Smith of retaliation following a complaint involving alleged sexual harassment–related conduct.

The lawsuit was filed earlier this week in Los Angeles County Superior Court.

The case centres on claims made by professional violinist Brian king Joseph, who toured with Smith as part of the actor’s music project.

Joseph alleges he was wrongfully terminated after raising concerns about an incident that occurred during the tour.

Alleged Incident During Las Vegas Tour Stop

According to the complaint, the alleged incident took place in march last year at a hotel in Las Vegas.

Joseph claims he returned to his hotel room and noticed signs of unauthorised entry.

He further alleges that he found personal belongings belonging to another individual inside the room.

The lawsuit states that hotel security informed him the room could only be accessed by members of Smith’s management team.

Joseph reported the incident to hotel security, local police, and representatives connected to Smith.

Claims of Retaliation and Termination

Shortly after making the report, Joseph alleges he was accused of lying by a representative of Smith’s team.

The lawsuit claims his services were terminated soon after those accusations were made.

Joseph joined the tour in december 2024 and performed as part of Smith’s live shows.

He alleges that Smith often spent time alone with him and suggested they shared a “special connection.”

After his termination, Joseph says he was replaced by another violinist.

He claims he was told the tour was “moving in a different direction,” which he disputes.

Legal Response From Smith’s Team

Smith’s attorney, Allen B. Grodsky, has strongly denied all allegations.

The attorney described the claims as “false, baseless, and reckless.”

Smith’s legal team has stated they intend to challenge the lawsuit vigorously.

A management company associated with Smith has been named as a defendant.

The lawsuit does not currently specify the amount of damages being sought.
