Plot and Arun Vijay’s Dual Roles

Retta Thala gets its title from the idea of two heads / double identity (“Retta” meaning two and “Thala” meaning head), reflecting its central theme.

In the film, Arun Vijay plays two distinct characters:

· Kaali, a man struggling with poverty who dreams of a better life.

· Malpe Upendra, a wealthy and powerful lookalike.

When Kaali crosses paths with his rich doppelgänger, his life takes a dramatic turn as he considers assuming Upendra’s identity to escape his hardships. The story unfolds with intense action, emotional stakes, and twists as Kaali confronts the moral and physical repercussions of his choice.

The film is directed by Kris Thirukumaran and includes performances by Siddhi Idnani, Tanya Ravichandran, Yogi Samy, John Vijay, and Hareesh Peradi among others.
