It is a known fact that Chandrababu Naidu is acquiring close to 38000 acres of fertile agricultural land for his proposed new capital.  One obstacle for his efforts was a ruling by Union government to fix a particular ceiling on the maximum fertile land which would be acquired.

Naidu comeback from China tour

But sources say that the Union government has now taken a decision to completely do away with this proposal wherein there is no limit now for acquiring fertile lands by any State government. For Naidu who is all set to comeback from China tour, this is definitely sweet news considering the fact that troubles are only growing for his capital efforts.

Land Acquisition Rehabilitation

According to the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act of 2013, states had to fix the cap on the total cultivable land that could be taken for a purpose. This was considered as a stumbling block by many states even as farmers fear this might affect them severely.

From now states have been informed that this cap is not mandatory in case the states can  justify how they would be compensating for productivity losses due to the loss of fertile land. Now Naidu has to only calculate the current revenues from the 38000 acres and then apprise the Center over alternate mechanisms for generate that revenue.
