Kolkata: police have arrested prashant Kishore, a member of the trinamool congress party who went on a field survey in Tripura, at a hotel.


In Tripura, the BJP, led by chief minister Biplob Kumar Dev, is in power. Twenty-two employees of the ‘IBAC’ company, owned by political strategies counsel prashant Kishore, arrived in Tripura yesterday to find out how popular support the mamata Banerjee-led trinamool congress is in the state.


Trinamool congress has entered into an agreement with prashant kishore to formulate political strategies until 2026. In this situation, the 22 employees who arrived in Agartala this morning (July 26) were not allowed by the police to leave the hotel, they complained.

Manik Das, a senior police officer from Tripura, said they have received information that 22 new people are roaming around Agartala while the corona prevention rules are in force. They have inquired as to why they have visited Tripura. The checkup was the usual procedure, he added.

 

A crew from poll tactician prashant Kishor's IPAC (Indian Political Action Committee) has professedly been prevented from leaving their lodge in Tripura capital Agartala, where they went to do some polls for West bengal cm mamata Banerjee's Trinamool party. The Tripura policemen have been nesting at the hotel antechamber and outdoor since the daylight and are not letting any of the 22 members of the IPAC crew to leave the premises, specialists in the industry told NDTV.


The police has not given any formal understanding for the hindrance, only demanding the IPAC team had disrupted Covid norms.  Specialists in the IPAC said the crew had all the essential Covid-related records.
