The corporation recovered 138 tonnes of firecracker debris that detonated in chennai just before diwali yesterday. chennai Corporation collects an average of 5,100 tonnes of solid garbage every day, according to a press release released by the Corporation of Chennai. To remove them, 358 heavy and light compactor and tipper vehicles are employed. In addition, 3 725 battery-powered three-wheelers are employed on a regular basis for cleaning.

On the eve of Deepavali, the cleaners in each of the Corporation of Chennai's 15 zones collect the firecrackers collected in their respective zones. 140 tonnes of firecracker waste had been gathered and disposed of separately by cleaners as of 12 p.m. yesterday.
