With two senior officials vying for the party nomination, selecting a candidate for the Husnabad assembly district would be challenging for the Congress. Former legislators Aligireddy Praveen reddy and Ponnam prabhakar have both made their intentions known. prabhakar took the decision to move from the karimnagar constituency to Husnabad, but Praveen reddy is from Mulkanoor in the Bheemadevarapalli mandal of the same district.

Close associates of the former mp claim that prabhakar opted to move to Husnabad in accordance with a deal he struck with praveen Reddy. In exchange, Praveen reddy agreed to run in the next lok sabha elections from the karimnagar congressional district. Praveen reddy, however, doesn't seem to be very pleased with the idea considering that he began his assembly campaign a few months ago and has already visited more than 70 villages as opposed to the 160 villages in the constituency. According to party sources, he travels to two villages each day.

Praveen reddy has never ventured beyond the Husnabad seat, hence he has little influence in the karimnagar parliament district. He feels he has a voice in the area since he is the president of the Mulkanoor Cooperative Rural bank and Marketing Society. After being elected as an mla in the 2009 elections, he also served the residents of the sector.

On the other side, B vinod kumar defeated prabhakar, a 2009 mp from karimnagar who had previously supported the trs (now the BRS). He ran for the karimnagar assembly segment in the 2018 assembly elections, however he could only achieve the third spot. In 2019, he ran for parliament from karimnagar once more and finished third.

Following a string of losses, prabhakar allegedly searched for a secure location and settled on Husnabad, where BCs, especially the Goud group of which he belongs, are abundant. Approximately 1.10 to 1.20 lakh voters, or 70%, are from bc communities. Unhappy with the former MP's choice, Praveen reddy is reportedly considering leaving the party and maybe joining the bjp if prabhakar is handed the Husnabad ticket, according to sources. Vodithela sathish Kumar, a BRS candidate and incumbent mla, is certain that he would win since the populace supports the current administration as a result of the implementation of several development programmes and welfare initiatives.
