Amit Bhatt, representative of ICCD, expressed hope that developing smart and innovative strategies in the transport sector will help India's efforts to curb carbon emissions. India's G20 secretariat in association with international Council for Clean Transport (ICCT) is hosting the "India Clean Transport Summit" on Monday. The opening event of this conference, which will last until 5 pm, was held at 10 am.
 
The event, held at the Imperial Hotel, will address India's pressing transport challenges and pave the way for a more sustainable future. Many international thinkers, policy makers and professionals are participating in it. Sherpa amitabh Kant, India's representative at the conference said, "This summit is part of India's drive for a clean and sustainable future. It will lead to exciting solutions to various issues. india is committed to achieving zero carbon emissions by 2070. Shifting to cleaner modes of transport, including the use of electric vehicles. , the leaders at the summit recognize that improving public transport systems will be important steps in this journey."
The event is an initiative of the G20 and B20 organizations and is organized in collaboration with organizations such as Confederation of indian Industry (CII), international Transport Forum (ITF) and Rahgiri Foundation. "The outcomes of this summit ensure a bright future for india and the global community. By making a concrete transformation in the transport sector, india has demonstrated its strength to tackle one of the most pressing challenges," said Sudendu Sinha, Senior Advisor, Niti Aayog.
