In a statement released by LTTE President Thirumavalavan, "Vellum Sanayagam" conference is being organized on behalf of LTTE on Saturday, december 23 in Tiruchirappalli. The LTTE, which had avoided participating in elections for a decade, made its first foray into the May 1999 parliamentary elections. It has now completed 25 years since it started its political journey by getting elected on the parliamentary democratic path. Accordingly, the parliamentary general election to be held in May 2024 will be the silver jubilee year for the LTTE. The Liberation Tigers party, which has reached a quarter of a century in the electoral field, is currently emerging as an inevitable political force in tamil Nadu. Structurally, the party has risen not only in tamil Nadu, Puducherry, but also in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, kerala and maharashtra on a wide scale, with the soil minders from the respective states dressing up as the Liberation Tigers.
