Anju, who went to pakistan illegally last July to marry her friend Nasrullah, whom she met through facebook, has recently returned to india through the wagah border. After questioning the agencies, she was taken to amritsar airport from where she arrived in Delhi. The 34-year-old woman, who converted to islam and is now Fatima, had been living in Pakistan's khyber pakhtunkhwa since last July. Pakistani media reported that Anju converted to islam after marrying her facebook friend Nasrullah. Initially, Anju and Nasrullah had no plans to get married. They had claimed that they would return to india on august 20 after the expiry of their visas, but a day after making such statements, a photo and video of the couple getting married in pakistan went viral.
In august, pakistan extended the visa of Anju, who was given the name Fatima after converting to islam and marrying Nasrullah, for a year. In September, Anju's husband Nasrullah had said that his wife was "mentally disturbed. She is in great need of seeing her children in India. Hailing from Rajasthan's Bhiwadi district, Anju traveled to Pakistan's northwestern khyber pakhtunkhwa province to meet a man she had befriended on facebook and fell in love with. Anju had traveled, telling her husband Arvind that she would go to jaipur for a few days. However, her husband came to know that she had crossed the border through the media.
Talking about this, Arvind said that his wife is in touch with him through WhatsApp. However, Anju called Arvind at around 4 pm on the day she left for Lahore and told her that she was in Lahore and would be back in two or three days. When asked about Anju's lover in pakistan, Arvind says he knows about her relationship and hopes that his wife will come back to him one day. Anju, who has two children, is married to Arvind after converting to Christianity.
