The central government has extended the Pradhan Mantri Garib kalyan Anna Yojana for five years. This scheme

was started to help the poor affected by the lockdown during the Corona period. The proposal related to this was

approved in the Union cabinet meeting chaired by prime minister Narendra Modi on tuesday last week. Under

this scheme, the poor are given five kilos of free ration every month.
