The maharashtra assembly Speaker has allotted the nationalist congress party (NCP) office in the Vidhan

Bhawan (Assembly complex) here to the faction led by deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar. Sources made this

claim on Wednesday. Leaders of the sharad pawar faction of the party had earlier in the day said that their group

was entitled to use the office. Sources in the ajit pawar faction said party leader and minister of State Anil Patil

had written a letter to assembly Speaker rahul Narvekar demanding allotment of ncp office before the winter

session of the assembly starting here from Thursday. He claimed that the Speaker has allotted the office to the Ajit

Pawar faction.

Anil Deshmukh, former state home minister and another leader of the sharad pawar camp, said in the morning that

the office belonged to his faction. Those who have left ncp should request the president to provide them a

separate office, he said. The ncp broke on July 2 after ajit pawar and eight party MLAs joined the bjp and

Eknath Shinde-led shiv sena government in Maharashtra. Since then, both factions of the ncp have laid claim to

the party’s name and symbol, and have petitioned the Speaker to disqualify those pledging allegiance to the other

party.

Whose right on ncp office?

Responding to a question as to whose ncp office will be in Vidhan Bhavan as Ajit Pawar-led faction leader

Dharmarao baba Atram had claimed that the office belonged to his party, Deshmukh said, “The party office will

be ours because some people Has left our party and walked out. The party office will remain with us and those

who have left our party should request the Speaker to make some arrangements for them.
