Reportedly the delhi high court on tuesday asked the seven bharatiya janata party (BJP) MLAs suspended from the delhi assembly for disrupting the Lieutenant Governor's address in the assembly, whether they were ready to apologize to him. When the senior lawyer appearing for the assembly said that a similar approach was adopted in the supreme court in the case of mp Raghav Chadha, Justice Subramaniam prasad asked the lawyer appearing for the suspended MLAs to take instructions on this aspect.

Meanwhile senior advocate Sudhir Nandrajog, appearing for the assembly, said the matter was not political and involved the dignity of the post of Lieutenant governor (LG). He said, 'I spoke to the assembly Speaker. He also suggested the approach adopted by the supreme court in the case of Raghav Chadha. If the members come and meet the Speaker and apologize to the Lieutenant governor, then the whole matter can be put forward. Senior advocate Jayant Mehta, appearing for the MLAs, said that there is no problem in apologizing to the Lieutenant Governor. The court asked the petitioners' counsel to come back with instructions in the post-lunch session. Later, the court was informed that some ‘progress’ had been made in the case. After this the petitions were listed for next hearing on 21 February.

Moreover seven bjp MLAs Mohan Singh Bisht, ajay Mahawar, OP Sharma, Abhay Verma, Anil Bajpai, Jitendra Mahajan and Vijendra Gupta approached the high court on monday challenging their indefinite suspension from the assembly for disrupting the Lieutenant Governor's address. The suspended MLAs said that their suspension till the completion of the proceedings before the Privileges Committee is in violation of the existing rules and hence they are unable to participate in the current budget session.
