For the first time in India,
Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) crossed a 10,000 megawatt (MW) portfolio on Wednesday.
The portfolio will power more than 5.8 million homes and help avoid around 21 million tonnes of CO2 emissions annually. adani Group Chairman gautam adani said, “In less than a decade, adani Green Energy has not envisioned a greener future. But implemented it,” said adani, founder and chairman of the adani Group.
AGEL's operational portfolio comprises 7,393 MW of solar, 1,401 MW of wind, and 2,140 MW of wind-solar hybrid capacity. This milestone is a testament to AGEL, India's largest and one of the world's leading renewable energy (RE) companies. And its growth will move firmly towards the target of 45,000 GW of renewable energy by 2030.
"The adani Group aims to facilitate India's transition to clean, reliable, and affordable energy," said gautam Adani. Notably, AGEL's operational portfolio has been certified as 'Single-Use Plastic Free', 'Zero Waste to Landfill', and 'Water Positive for 200 MW capacity plants'.
The company is developing the world's largest renewable energy project with a capacity of 30,000 MW on barren land at Gawda in Kutch, Gujarat. Built on an area of 538 square kilometers, it is five times the size of paris and larger than the city of Mumbai.
