Questions being raised on EVMs-putting question mark...

A hearing on the demand to match the VVPAT vote tallying with all EVM votes was recently held at the supreme court on april 1. A notice has been issued by the bench of Justices BR Gavai and sandeep Mehta, requesting responses from the central government and the election Commission. This case's next hearing is scheduled for May 17. It has been stated that only five EVMs are matched whenever a query about this issue comes up and that all EVM votes should match with VVPAT. This ought to be considered as well, and the votes ought to be totalled.

Queries that have been there for a while

In a democracy, these kinds of questions must be asked. Everyone is entitled to information about the actions of the government and those holding high positions. Nobody has the freedom to do as they choose in a democracy. In a democracy, there is a very broad right to know. When the supreme court was debating the issue of freedom of expression in 1950, it was stated in its rulings that while everyone had the right to speak their mind, there should be word restrictions.

Everybody has a right to know what the government is saying and doing for them. The supreme court stated that everyone has the right to know in this case. because once people are equipped with knowledge, they can make decisions. Therefore, they must be aware of and comprehend any provisions pertaining to freedom of expression before they can make a choice. Transparency will increase as a result in society. Transparency is necessary because when information is shared among members of a society, suspicions about one another are avoided.

The electronic voting machine shows no evidence of the vote we are casting. The general public is unable to understand what is going on inside the machine. As a result, VVPAT has to be aware of the intended recipient of our votes. This computer was brought in to confirm it; it did not arrive overnight, and long-running lawsuits were filed in response. One center was the first to use VVPAT. After that, it was installed in an assembly at five different locations. Following that, people began to wonder why this was limited to five polling places. Why will the voter be unable to determine in a matter of seconds whether the person for whom he cast his vote has gotten the VVPAT slip or not, and the slip will still be within the machine? Voters have long harbored doubts about this. This petition has surfaced, casting doubt on the democratic system as a whole rather than on any one individual.
