Haryana's State Women's Commission has sought a reply from congress leader randeep surjewala regarding the comments made about lok sabha candidate and actress hema malini from Mathura, UP. The Commission has asked him to come to its office in Panchkula on april 9 and give clarification on the matter. bjp is attacking Surjewala regarding his statement. At the same time, Surjewala alleges that BJP's IT cell has cropped his video.

Issuing a notice in the name of Surejwala, the State Women's Commission wrote, "You are informed that the haryana State Women's Commission is a state-level statutory government body which has been constituted under the haryana State Women's Commission Act 2012." So that the safety and interests of the women of the state can be protected. The Commission, as per its mandate, inter alia enforces existing legal protections for women, recommends remedial legislative measures, and advises the government on policy matters related to women.

Woman's dignity hurt - Women's Commission

The Commission further wrote, "As per the orders of the Chairman, haryana State Women's Commission, you are informed that the Commission has taken suo motu cognizance of the topicless news published on various news channels and social media under the powers conferred under the haryana State Women's Commission Act 2012, in which You have used abusive language and comments against hema malini (artist) which is insulting to the dignity of a woman and indecent. You are requested to reach the Commission's office at 10.30 am on april 9 and give clarification on the matter.
