Maharashtra congress leader adamant on contesting elections...

The protest by angry leaders in the congress party is not stopping. Meanwhile, the news is that maharashtra congress rebel vishal Patil is not ready to withdraw his decision to contest elections from the Sangli Lok Sabha's seat as an independent candidate. He has been adamant on contesting the elections against the decision of the party leadership. He did not withdraw his nomination on 22 April, which was the last day of the nomination process. Voting will be held in Sangli, maharashtra on 7th May. Whereas the results will be declared on june 4.

Congress, part of the opposition maha Vikas Aghadi alliance, and uddhav Thackeray-led shiv sena (UBT) were in a tussle over the Sangli seat for several weeks. In the end, shiv sena made UBT wrestler Chandrahar Patil its candidate. After this, Vishwajit Kadam wrote a letter to the central leadership of the party asking them to put pressure on the army (UBT) to allow vishal Patil to contest the elections, but to no avail. His efforts went in vain.

UBT candidate also did not withdraw his name

Also, shiv sena (UBT) did not withdraw its candidate. I have decided to contest the elections as an independent candidate. Addressing a press conference, Patil said that I received calls from some senior leaders and asked me to withdraw my nomination. My family members were promised prominent positions. I am grateful for these offers, but this struggle is not mine. This belongs to the public.
