Danish ambassador video amidst filth of Delhi...
Danish Ambassador to india Freddy Swain, in a video uploaded on social media, showed garbage in a street adjacent to the Danish Embassy here and appealed to the authorities to take necessary action. The ambassador posted a video on social media platform 'X' with the title - beautiful and green New delhi, a lot of talk but no action, saddened by this. Ambassador Freddy Swain has also tagged the Chief Minister's office and the Lieutenant governor of delhi in his post. In the video, Sven stands in the middle of the street and points to the garbage and construction debris scattered around. He said in the video, “Welcome to the wonderful, green and dirty New Delhi.”
The Danish ambassador also pointed to the Danish and Greek embassy buildings on either side of the lane. He said, “We have the Danish embassy here and the Greek embassy there. You see it is full of garbage, and people are throwing whatever they want. So, I hope someone listens to this and takes action. No more nice words, just action, my friends."
Street cleaning done by NDMC
When asked about the video, a senior official of New delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) said, “After the matter came to the notice, employees have been sent there and got the cleaning done. We will also ensure that such a situation does not arise again. NDMC said that it welcomes any feedback to improve its services. Let us tell you that the Embassy of denmark is located in Chanakyapuri, which is the main diplomatic area of the country in the national capital. Civic amenities in this area come under NDMC. After the cleaning of the area by New delhi Municipality (NDMC), Danish Ambassador Freddy Swain thanked the NDMC employees.
