Now, seeing the seriousness of this matter, delhi chief minister rekha Gupta on tuesday (April 15) warned the managers of strict action on complaints of arbitrary fee hike by private schools.
The cm said that her government is committed to transparency in education and protection of children's rights. The delhi education Department has sought a reply from private schools in this regard. chief minister rekha Gupta told PTI that no school has the right to harass parents over fees or expel students in an unfair manner.
Orders to cancel registration of queen Mary School
cm rekha Gupta further said, "She has received a complaint about a private school in Model Town that the school manager is allegedly increasing the fees there. He is expelling students for not paying the increased fees." Sharing the incident on Instagram, he said, "Today a case related to queen Mary school of Model Town has come to light, where parents complained about unfair fee collection and expulsion of students." After receiving the complaint from the parent, the cm called the education department official and directed him to immediately cancel the registration of queen Mary school of Model Town. However, the school management has not issued any immediate response in this matter.
The parent had made these allegations
Actually, the parent of a student studying in queen Mary school alleged that the school had suddenly increased its fees last year. He said that when we refused to pay the extra amount, the school kept my daughter in the library and did not allow her to attend any of her classes.
