Jainul Abdin Farooq, advisor to bangladesh Nationalist party (BNP) President Khaleda Zia, gave a big warning to Mohammad Yunus in a program organized by the Central Committee of Jatiyatabadi Toran Dal at the National press Club on saturday (May 17, 2025).

According to the Dhaka Tribune report, speaking at a discussion program organized at the National press Club, Khaleda Zia's advisor said that I appeal to Dr. Mohammad Yunus, Chief Advisor of the Interim government of bangladesh, to conduct elections in the country before the public outrage increases.

'Elections should be held as soon as possible'

In this event, there was a demand for the implementation of the 31-point framework announced by the acting president of BNP for holding early elections in the country and reorganizing the state. Zainul Abdin Farooq said that the people of this country have a lot of expectations from Mohammad Yunus and they want elections to be held as soon as possible. He also said that in order to hold elections, the head of the interim government should make everything clear to the people of the country in the next few days.

'It should not happen that people's anger increases'

Addressing Mohammad Yunus, Zainul Abdin Farooq said that we are proud of you, do not break that pride. Rivers do not change their course without hitting rocks. So hold elections before people's anger increases and they turn against you. BNP's senior leader Zainul Abdin Farooq also alleged that the government is hesitant to hold elections. He demanded to hold elections like Justice Shahabuddin ahmed in 1991.

During his speech, Farooq also raised questions on the issue of corridor and sharply criticized Indian Prime minister Narendra Modi. The discussion held at the National press Club was chaired by Jatiyatabadi Torun Dal president Mohammad Abu Bakar Siddiqui. During this time, BNP Joint Secretary General Abdus Salam Azad, Religious Affairs Secretary Mohammad Rafiqul islam Jamal and the organization's General Secretary Aminul islam were also present.
