A Pakistani citizen living in goa on a long-term visa for the last nine years i.e. since 2016, on thursday (5 June, 2025has filed a petition in the supreme Court against the decision of the central government to cancel the visas of Pakistanis.

26 people, most of whom were tourists, were killed in the terrorist attack on 22 April in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. After this attack, the central government issued a notification and cancelled the visas issued to Pakistanis. In these, exemption was given to those people who were specifically expressed as exceptions and a time limit was fixed for their departure to the country.

The court told the Pakistani citizen - 'Go back'

The advocate appearing on behalf of the Pakistani citizen on thursday (5 June) appealed for immediate listing of the case before the bench of Justice Sanjay Karol and Justice Satish Chandra Sharma of the supreme Court. The advocate said, "This is the case of a Pakistani citizen who has been living in goa on a long-term visa since 2016. After the pahalgam attack, the government of india has issued a notification." On this, the bench said, "You go back." The advocate said - the petitioner was born in India The advocate said that the petitioner will go back, but he should be heard because there were special conditions contained in the long-term visa. The advocate told the bench that the petitioner was born in India. However, the supreme court asked the advocate why his client did not approach the regional High Court. On this, the advocate said that the police had come to the petitioner, after which the bench said that the case would be listed for hearing. sc had banned sending 6 people to pakistan for verification of citizenship

In another case, on May 2, the Supreme Court had directed the authorities not to send back six members of a family, who were allegedly staying in india for overstaying their visa, to pakistan until their citizenship claim is verified.
