Former Union minister and bjp mp anurag thakur has launched a scathing attack on the aam aadmi party (AAP) regarding the ludhiana West assembly by-election. He said that 'The AAP government of punjab has completely failed to fulfill the promises made before coming to power, so in this by-election, the voters have an opportunity to answer the government and teach a lesson for its failures.'
He surrounded the AAP government during the press conference and said that AAP had promised to make punjab 'drug free', but today the state is becoming 'drug-ridden'. anurag thakur accused the bhagwant mann government that development work in the state has stopped.
He said that the promises made by the government to the youth for employment, relief to farmers and corruption-free administration have all remained unfulfilled. Thakur said that today the situation is that punjab is heavily in debt and government employees are also having to protest for their rights.
If AAP wins this election, it will not send a punjabi to rajya sabha - Anurag Thakur
Pointing to the ludhiana West by-election, Thakur said that AAP wants to send a leader rejected by the people of delhi to the rajya sabha and is now fielding him from Punjab. Taking a dig at AAP, he said that this is a clear indication that the party wants to use the public opinion of the state for the personal interests of its leaders. He said, "The people of punjab, especially the voters of ludhiana, should keep in mind that if AAP wins the by-election, it will send its own leader instead of sending a punjabi to the Rajya Sabha."
anurag thakur questioned the aam aadmi party whether it can give an assurance in writing that only a person from punjab will be sent to the Rajya Sabha. He appealed to the voters to take a careful decision in these elections. It is worth noting that the by-election is to be held on june 19 for the ludhiana West assembly seat and the counting of votes will be done on june 23. This seat fell vacant after the death of AAP mla Gurpreet Bassi Gogi. This time AAP has made rajya sabha member and industrialist sanjeev Arora its candidate.
