Therefore, questions are being raised on Pakistan's diplomacy on giving General Kurilla the country's second highest civilian award and it is being called a diplomatic deception with Iran.

In a statement issued by the Pakistani army, it was said that Pakistan's second highest civilian honor is being given to the head of the US Army's Central Command, General Kurilla, because General Kurilla played an important role in taking the long-standing defense cooperation between pakistan and America to new heights. He also contributed to increasing cooperation against terrorism and strengthening strategic defense relations. The Pakistani army said in its statement that General Kurilla's leadership expanded mutual understanding, joint operations and intelligence partnership between the pakistan army and the US Central Command.
