The season 4 conclusion of Stranger Things will have some character deaths, according to creators Matt and Ross Duffer. Season 4 volume 1 of Stranger Things was released on May 27, 2022, and volume 2 would follow on July 1. After the exhilarating first volume, viewers are eagerly awaiting volume 2. The gang discovers they are facing a severe threat from a new and potent foe in Vecna throughout the first half of the season after several unexplained deaths take place in Hawkins (Jamie Campbell Bower).

The zombie monster is extremely strong, and Eleven (Millie bobby Brown), the only thing that might be able to stop him, is still working to regain her powers. Several characters, especially Nancy (Natalia Dyer) and Steve, were in perilous positions as Volume 1 concluded on a cliffhanger (Joe Keery). Considering that volume 1 introduced a number of new characters, creating a fairly huge cast that could undoubtedly tolerate some trimming, it seemed as though volume 1 was setting up for some character deaths. The first celebrity to hint that there will be some significant deaths in volume 2 was Noah Schnapp. However, the creators are now speaking out as well.

The Duffer brothers acknowledged that there will be fatalities in season 4 in an interview with Variety. By essentially repeating what Schnapp said before to the conclusion, they somewhat deflected criticism from him after he was accused of ruining volume 2. They answered positively to the interviewer's question about if there will be a body count by the end of the season by responding, "For sure, for sure."
