With the existing Corona Lockdown, the public has no access to any kind of entertainment. Even in india, the lockdown has been going on for nearly 60 days and the people have remained in their homes. The movie industry was also shut down completely, the theaters and serials have stopped, and people are looking to OT platform for entertainment. google india has surveyed the same thing.
The number of people watching videos on online platforms has increased. Counts of which languages are being watched the most. One out of every three indians is watching videos online. google also said they watch videos online for hours every day. google carried out the survey under the name "Understanding India's Online Video Viewer".
The survey found that indians are increasingly watching hindi videos. Nearly 54 per cent of them make videos in Hindi. 16 per cent watch english videos. The number of viewers of telugu videos is third. About seven percent of telugu videos are viewed online. Next up is Viewer Ship with six per cent of kannada , 5 per cent of tamil and three per cent of bengali videos.
Google predicts that the number of people watching videos online beforehand is likely to increase. The number is expected to reach 500 million over the next year. In particular, 37% of people from rural areas are interested in making videos online.
