Astra Missiles: india is developing missiles with accurate firepower up to 300 km, even enemy radars will not work, know all the specialties

DRDO scientists are working fast to develop the air-to-air missile Astra missile MK-1 and MK-2.

India is going towards a big success in the defense sector. DRDO has informed that it is going to develop the second and third versions of the Astra missile. According to the report, DRDO scientists are working fast to develop the air-to-air missiles Astra missiles MK-1 and MK-2. You will be surprised to know its power. These are considered a kind of Brahmastra to get rid of the sixes of the enemies.

These missiles are Beyond Visual Range Air-to-Air Missile (BVRAAM). That is, even where the pilot is not visible, he is capable of ridding the enemies of sixes. The biggest thing is that even the radars of the enemy country will not work on them. That is, it is also adept at dodging radar. The biggest thing is that the MK-1 missile is capable of hitting the target at a distance of 160 km, while the MK-2 missile can hit the target accurately up to 300 km.

The biggest strength of this missile is that it provides stand-off the range to its fighter jets. Stand-off range means that by firing the missile towards the enemy, he gets the right time to avoid his attack.

Talking about its launch, the Astra MK-2 missile will be launched in 2023, while the Mk-3 will be launched in 2024. Till now indigenous missiles of this category did not exist. Earlier on May 31, the Defense Ministry had signed a contract worth Rs 2,971 crore with Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) to equip the indian air Force and the indian Navy with Astra Mk-1 missiles and related equipment.

According to retired air Marshal Anil Chopra, india needs to develop missiles like the Astra Mk-2 and Mk-3 to meet the requirements of the air Force. These two missiles will prove to be a milestone in the future to locate and strike targets at the farthest possible range. This is a great start for increasing the detection range of radars and manufacturing long-range missiles.
