An important Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the maharashtra Government and Blackstone Group's XSIO Logistics Parks and Horizon Industrial Parks. The agreement was signed between industry Secretary Dr. P. Anbalagan and Chairman of Horizon Industrial Parks R.K. Narayanan at the maharashtra Government and Sahyadri State Guest house in the presence of chief minister Devendra Fadnavis.

This agreement has been made for the development of modern logistics and industrial parks in major industrial and multimodal logistics areas of the state.

What will be the benefit to Maharashtra?

Under this agreement, more than 10 modern industrial and logistics parks will be developed in Maharashtra. For this, 794.2 acres of land will be used, out of which construction work will be done on 1.85 crore square feet of land. All these projects will have a total foreign direct investment (FDI) of ₹ 5,127 crore. A total of 27,510 employment opportunities will be generated directly and indirectly through this agreement.

These logistics parks will be developed at important locations like Nagpur, Bhiwandi, Chakan, Khandwa, Sinnar, Panvel. Also, they will be in line with maharashtra Logistics Policy 2024.

What did cm devendra fadnavis say?

Chief minister devendra fadnavis expressed confidence on the occasion that this transformational partnership will be a strong step towards the creation of world-class, environmentally, socially and administratively friendly industrial and logistics hubs in Nagpur, Mumbai, pune and other places and will create a strong infrastructure for India's manufacturing, warehousing and supply chain excellence.
