Delhi's Rouse Avenue court has given an important decision in a serious case related to child sexual abuse. The Additional Metropolitan Magistrate of the court has convicted the accused named anurag sharma under Section 67B of the Information technology Act 2000. Now the next hearing in this case is to decide the duration of punishment. This case is of the year 2016.

Actually this information was given to cbi in the complaint. A person, who was later identified as Anurag Sharma. He accessed child sexual abuse material from the Internet and downloaded it on his personal laptop. On the basis of the written complaint received, cbi immediately registered a case in this matter on 27 october 2016 and started investigation.

The court gave an important decision

The cbi raided the house of the accused during the investigation in this case and recovered several objectionable videos and files from his personal laptop. In which objectionable material related to sexual abuse of children was present. After the hearing was completed from the cbi court of Rouse Avenue court, the accused anurag sharma was convicted.

What does the law say?

The court said in its order that after looking at the wallet PLATFORM' target='_blank' title='digital-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>digital evidence and the investigation report, it has become clear that the accused Anurag deliberately downloaded and kept such objectionable material with him, which is a complete crime under the law. The court said in its order that such crimes pose an extremely serious threat to the safety and mental health of the most sensitive section of society, children.

The court has fixed the day for the debate on the punishment in this case. The court will decide on that day how many years of punishment should be given to the accused. Under this law i.e. Section 67B of the IT Act 2000, it is a serious crime for any person to publish, propagate, download or view pornographic material related to children. If found guilty for the first time in this crime, there is a provision of up to 5 years of imprisonment and fine, whereas if found guilty again, there is a provision of up to 7 years of imprisonment.
