Horse racing begins: 'Dark Sun' wins tamil New Year trophy!
The 135th horse race in udaipur started today. The "Dark Sun" horse won the tamil New Year trophy. Horse racing, the main event of the summer season in the Nilgiris district, began in Udaipur. During the annual summer season, various events are held to attract tourists to the Nilgiris. As part of this, horse races will be held in Udhaya on behalf of the madras Race Club from april 14 to June. The 135th horse race started today. 600 racing horses have been brought in from various states including Bangalore, chennai and Poona.

The main races are the Nilgiri Derby on May 15, the Dr. MAM Ramasamy Memorial Trophy on May 14, the Nilgiri gold Cup on june 2 and the ooty Juvenile Sprint Cup on june 3. 7 matches were played today on the first day. Eight horses took part in the competition for the main competition, the New Year's Cup. The horse named 'Dark Sun' won the competition. The horse was ridden by Jackie Nahad Singh. The winning horse was coached by J. Sebastian, and the owner was presented with a trophy and prizes.
