Indian air Force is planning to include 114 fighter jets in its fleet. The special thing is that 96 of these aircraft will be made in India. While the remaining 18 jets will be imported from foreign vendors selected for this project. Under this scheme, the 'Self-reliant india Scheme' of the government of india will be promoted.

The indian air Force is planning to buy these 114 Multirole fighter Aircraft (MRFA) under the 'Buy Global and Make in India' scheme. government sources said that the indian air Force recently held a meeting with foreign vendors on the issue. In the meeting, the ways to implement the 'Make in India' project were discussed.

First 18 jets will be bought, and 96 will be constructed in the country

According to the scheme, initially, 18 aircraft will be procured. After this 96 fighter jets will be made in India. These fighter jets will be priced in both foreign and indian currency. For this, the world's leading aircraft manufacturers including Boeing, Lockheed Martin, MiG, Saab, Irkut Corporation, and Dassault Aviation can participate in this tender.

Rafael played together in Ladakh

The indian air Force has to rely heavily on these 114 fighter jets to maintain its superiority over neighboring rivals china and Pakistan. During the Ladakh crisis in 2020, 36 Rafale aircraft purchased under emergency orders played an important role in maintaining an edge over china, but their number is not enough. So india will need to buy more of them.
