Gujarat Election: Who is the richest candidate in Gujarat?
Voting is to be held on 7 May on 26 lok sabha seats of Gujarat. There are 266 candidates in the fray. BJP's Poonambem Madam is the richest candidate. She has assets worth Rs 147 crore. Association for Democratic Reform (ADR) gave this information. Whereas Mayawati's Bahujan Samaj party candidate rekha Chaudhary has property worth Rs 2000. rekha is contesting from Bardoli seat. This seat is reserved for the Scheduled Tribes. Out of total 266 candidates from gujarat, 68 candidates are crorepatis, this figure is 26 percent of the total candidates. BJP's mukesh Dalal, who won the election unopposed from surat seat, has assets worth Rs 17 crore.
Poonambem Madam is contesting from Jamnagar seat. He is also the current mp from here and bjp has once again expressed confidence in him. In the 2019 lok sabha elections, he had declared his assets to be Rs 42.7 crore. He has movable assets worth Rs 60 crore and immovable assets worth Rs 87 crore. These include their own property, that of their spouse and that of the Hindu Undivided Family (HUF).
Union minister Mansukh Mandaviya has total properties worth seven crores. gujarat bjp President CR Patil has informed that he has assets worth Rs 39 crore. He is again in the fray from Navsari seat. Bharat Makwana, congress candidate from ahmedabad West seat, has assets worth Rs 25 crore. This seat is reserved for Scheduled Caste.
In the gujarat lok sabha elections, a total of 24 bjp candidates are crorepatis, while 21 congress candidates are crorepatis. Four candidates of Bahujan Samaj party are also millionaires. The average asset of bjp candidates is Rs 15 crore, while the average asset of congress candidates is Rs 6 crore. Among the 15 richest candidates, eight are from bjp and seven from Congress.
