THALAIVII tells the narrative of a young woman's transformation from a prominent heroine to a powerful political figure. In 1965, the narrative begins. Jayalalithaa, often known as Jaya (Kangana Ranaut), is a tamil actress on the rise. Her mom (Bhagyashree) has persuaded her to join the profession so that they would have a stable stream of income. Jaya gets the chance to work with mgr (Arvind Swamy), one of tamil cinema's biggest actors, in no time. Jaya's attitude and fearless demeanor are admired by MJR. Meanwhile, she is taken in by his good nature. Both end up collaborating on a number of movies.

They become one of the most renowned jodis, much to the chagrin of MJR's PA, R M veerappan (Raj Arjun). MGR's passion for Jaya, according to veerappan, could herald the superstar's demise. After a few years, mgr enters politics and joins the DMK, which is led by karunanidhi (Nassar). karunanidhi wins the state elections by a massive majority, thanks in part to MGR's campaigning. Unfortunately, mgr is unable to join party meetings. He is also more popular, which does not sit well with Karunanidhi.

After a showdown between the two, mgr leaves DMK. He makes the decision to form his own political party. mgr is advised by veerappan to stay away from Jaya before it causes him problems in his political career. mgr concurs. Jaya is heartbroken. The plot then jumps ahead ten years. For the second time, mgr has been named Chief Minister. Due to her age, Jaya does not receive many films offers. She begins to accept dance performances. A government-sponsored performance in madurai is one of the options available to her. She runs into MJR again during this event. mgr invites her to his party this time. Jaya refuses, but an event on the way back to chennai has a lasting impact on her. She quickly enters politics. The rest of the movie is built around what happens next.

The style of a l vijay is really simple and massy. The movie is made in such a way that it is accessible to all segments of the audience. He establishes the characters from the start and sprinkles the film with some well-executed emotional scenes. He takes the film to a new level in the second half. The burial sequence of mgr deserves a special note here. It'll undoubtedly give you goosebumps. On the other hand, he is not at his best in the first half. The scenes are haphazardly edited as if to shorten the runtime.

THALAIVII opens with a dramatic sequence in the assembly that sets the tone for the rest of the film. From here on out, one can expect pyrotechnics. The film then shifts its focus to Jaya's cinematic career. Even here, the creators do their best to keep the audience interested. The Medu Wada series is extremely effective. Nevertheless, as one waits for her political adventure to begin, one becomes restless. What happens in the second half, and after that, there's no going back. AL Vijay puts the picture on a steady high, from Jaya exposing corruption in the mid-day meal program to Jaya seducing prime minister Indira gandhi to her campaigning to the finale.

Kangana Ranaut is great in the character and brings it to life. She is totally convincing as a bygone age heroine, and even as a furious political figure, she steals the show. In summary, the National Award-winning actor delivers yet another award-worthy portrayal. arvind swamy comes as a complete shock. He has a difficult character to play, yet he pulls it off with ease. The cinematography of vishal Vittal is breathtaking. The indoor and campaigning scenes, in particular, are superbly photographed. Neeta Lulla's costumes are opulent and reminiscent of the fashions used by celebrities and politicians of the period. The set design by S ramakrishna and Monika Nigotre is extremely intricate.

On the whole, A Fascinating and Rewarding Biographical Drama!
