Citizens above 17 years can now apply for Voter ID...!

The election commission said that those who have completed 17 years of age can apply for a voter ID card. A voter ID card is one of the necessary proof for voting from local body elections to parliamentary elections. It is also considered one of the symbols of indian citizenship. Earlier there was a requirement for 18 years of age to get a voter ID card. Similarly, special camps are usually held for adding, deleting, correcting, changing addresses, etc. in the voter list when elections are approaching.
After this, the draft voter list will be published and then the final voter list will be published. On the other hand, those who applied for a voter ID card and did not get it had the practice of voting with 11 types of documents.In this case, the Chief election commission of india has said that there is no need to wait till the age of 18 to get a voter ID card, and those who have reached the age of 17 can also apply early. The Chief Electoral Officers of the State have also been ordered to take steps to include those who have completed 17 years of age in the voter list.

Meanwhile, it has been said that special camps for adding names to the voter list conducted in the pre-election periods will be held 4 times a year from now on, and applications for adding names can be made on the 1st of January, April, July, and October.
