The well-known television news station NDTV has begun revealing its true colours just two days after its founders Prannoy Roy and his wife radhika Roy resigned from their positions as directors of promoter group vehicle RRPR Holding Private Limited due to a near-takeover by the adani group. Even though Prannoy and radhika were thought to be closer to the congress high command and were critical of the policies of the bharatiya janata party in general and prime minister narendra Modi in particular, the NDTV had maintained a more or less centrist stance in news presentation and news-related programmes all these years. However, the way its news was presented starting on thursday night was clearly different.

The news articles promoting narendra Modi's appearance in gujarat have tipped the scales to the right of centre. It has stated that it plans to convert to saffron in the upcoming days, joining india Today, Zee news, and ABP News. The board of RRPR Holding has authorised the nomination of Sudipta Bhattacharya, Sanjay Pugalia, and Senthil Sinniah Chengalvarayan as Directors on its board with immediate effect, just hours after Roys announced his resignation. They are the adani Group's nominees, as should go without saying. Meanwhile, devoted journalists who had established themselves as cornerstones of the station are leaving NDTV.

With effect from december 1, senior hindi journalist and anchor Ravish Kumar, who anchored the highly regarded primetime programme on NDTV india, announced his departure. Many more are likely to do the same. It's only a matter of time before the NDTV is saffronized since the adani group will hire journalists who are located closer to the centre of power.
