The previous weekend had as many as a dozen releases, but none of them succeeded in holding the audience's attention. As a result, it was a very disappointing weekend. The traders had some hope of generating at least table profits with so many movie releases, but it appears that wasn't the case. Prior to its debut, "Mukhachitram" generated a lot of excitement, but the movie fell short of at least ordinary buzz.

The star-studded movie Gurthunda Seethakalam, on the other hand, was unable to even generate a conversation on social media. The producers' attempt to capitalise on Sathya Dev & Tammannah's reputation backfired badly. The anthology "Panchatanthram" then follows, which also included stars with recognisable faces. The reviews for the movie were excellent at first, but as the day went on, there wasn't much buzz on social media.

And the debuts like "Leharaayi," "Vijay Anand," and other such productions ultimately had their performances cancelled. The content being presented in theatres is largely now available on OTTs, and audiences are simply preferring to watch it warmly at home rather than travelling and shivering in the theatres, according to trade gurus, who explained the poor business rate over the weekend.
