Anjani Kumar, a senior IPS officer, was chosen on thursday by the telangana administration, led by chief minister K chandrasekhar Rao, to replace M Mahender reddy as director general of police (DGP), who would retire on december 31 due to superannuation. Anjani Kumar, an IPS officer from the 1990 batch, is currently the director general of the anti-corruption bureau (ACB). He has previously been the commissioner of the hyderabad city police.
Anjani Kumar would only carry full additional responsibility for the DGP temporarily, according to the decision, until the government chooses a full-time DGP, with approval from the Union home ministry. He will also serve as DGP (Coordination). In addition to taking full additional charge of the position of DG, another senior IPS officer from the 1990 batch, ravi Gupta, who is now Principal Secretary (home), would succeed Anjani Kumar as the DGP of acb (vigilance and enforcement).
A second 1992-caliber IPS official, Dr. Jitender, who is currently serving as the pretended Additional director General of police (Law & Order), has also been transferred and assigned to the position of Principal Secretary to the government, Home. He will also assume full extra responsibility for the position of DG (Prisons & Correctional Services). Mahesh muralidhar Bhagwat, the police commissioner for Rachakonda, was another significant transfer that took place in Telangana. This IPS officer from the 1995 batch has been assigned as the Additional director General of police for the CID in Telangana.
