Director and actor Cheran's father S. Pandian passed away at his home in Palaiyurpatti. He is 84 years old. cheran worked as an assistant director to director KS Ravikumar. After this, he made his debut as a director with Bharati Kannamma, which was released in 1997, and subsequently directed films like Por Kaalam and Dhesiya Geetham. Then in 2000, Vetri Kodikattu, directed by cheran and starring murali and Parthiban, won the National Award.
Later cheran emerged as a mind-blowing director for family audiences by directing quality films like Naranda Katha, Tavamai Tavam, and Autograph. His last film in the direction was Thirumanam. After this film, cheran took a rest to direct the film and has been acting in various films as an actor. Even recently, the movie Tamilgudimagan, which was released by him, was well-received by critics.
Apart from this, cheran also appeared as a contestant in the 3rd season of bigg boss hosted by Kamal Haasan. He managed to hold on for 91 days and missed out on going to the finals. cheran is currently working as a busy director for a web series. At this stage, a tragic incident took place in his house.
