Some people take the left while the light is red, which is annoying if they block the free left and cause trouble. Because of the lack of signs and the general public's disregard for this unusual traffic law, drivers have been turning left when they shouldn't.

The initiative, which was meant to speed up left turns during specific times, such as during rush hour, has instead caused a great deal of confusion and is no longer useful.

A lot of people point out that the free-left initiative is an issue, even though some regard this as a solution. "There is no free left and all vehicles must stop when the light is fully red.

Not every move to the left is a free turn. According to Lokendra Singh, a city-based road safety expert, it should only be available on broader roads with appropriate islands at crossroads that have a dedicated left lane before 300 meters at least when approaching the junction. Free lefts at rear-row highways also need to be removed.

In addition to the problem of free left, many drivers choose to proceed straight ahead at a red light when most other traffic would have turned right, which obstructs oncoming traffic.

According to Lokendra, free lefts and free straights were designed for the convenience of commuters and are not included in the Motor vehicles Act.

In actuality, left-turning traffic at intersections causes more congestion at the subsequent intersection, lengthening wait times. We can avoid this if lane discipline is observed. Additionally, a specific area in the form of a curve exists for each free left turn, reducing the width of the road for traffic coming from the right direction as it demerges and merges.

Although there isn't enough room to handle the traffic, this service is also offered at a few intersections across the city.

A few instances include LB Stadium (near Nizam College), Nanal nagar intersection, ravindra Bharati Circle (Assem-bly to Lakdikapul), and the entry to Tank Bund Road from the telangana Martyrs' Memorial side road. In several other places, there aren't any signs warning against turning left or straight.
