Famous singer usha Uthup's husband Jani Chacko Uthup passed away yesterday in Kolkata, their family said. Jani, 78, complained of discomfort while watching tv at home. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead. Jani Chacko died of a heart attack, doctors said. usha Uthup's second husband is Jani Chacko. He was a member of the tea plantation industry. He and usha met in the early 1970s at a nightclub called Drinkas. Later both fell in love and got married. The couple has a son, Sunny. It has been announced that Jani's funeral will take place on Tuesday, July 9. Various parties including screen celebrities are condoling his death.
Usha Uthup started her musical journey in 1969 by singing songs in a chennai nightclub. After her songs were well received, legendary actor dev anand met him when she sang in a delhi nightclub. She then made her bollywood debut with the song Hare Rama Hare Krishna. During the disco era of the 1970s and 1980s, she sang many hit songs by composers RD Burman and Bubby Lahiri. She has also acted in a few films, most notably she played in priyanka Chopra's 7 Khoon Maaf which was a dark comedy film where she acted as a maid Maggie Aunty.
