Suriya's "Retro" is currently scheduled to debut on OTT.  On May 31, it will be made available on Netflix in tamil, telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.  Suriya was slated to make a comeback in the flick.  However, the celebrity will now have to wait a little while longer to make a reappearance.  Retro hasn't worked out.  Additionally, it had to conflict with films like "Thudarum," "Raid 2," and "Hit: The Third Case" in several locales. 

Despite widespread support for distribution, it did not perform well in telugu regions.  Although there were plenty of screens, not many people showed up.  Additionally, in tamil Nadu, a lesser movie called "Tourist Family" received more positive reviews and fiercely competed with Retro.  The only way to redeem the film now is through OTT.  In numerous instances, OTT hits have been created from theatrical failures.  The film's timing was not favorable because there were a lot of foreign-language films showing in theaters at the time. 

On OTT, however, that won't be the case.  As was the case with movies like Laal Singh Chaddha, there's a decent probability that people will finally watch Retro on Netflix and it will receive a higher number of views.
